Whispers of Want: The Dance of Desire

Whispers of Want: The Dance of Desire

This week, Boushie Babes, we're turning up the heat—seriously, is it getting hot in here? 🔥 We’re diving headfirst into those sultry looks, those come hither bedroom eyes, the looks that could melt even the iciest of hearts. Oh yes, we're talking about desire.

You know what I’m talking about: those steamy, intense gazes that make a photo feel alive with passion. Have you ever looked at a picture and wondered how on earth the pros make those come hither glances seem so effortless, so uncoached? Well, honey, I can’t spill all the tea right here, but let me just say—I can get you there. That's right, I’ll be your personal guide, coaching and directing you to master that you know you want this look for your session. Trust me, boo, I’ve got you covered!

But first, let’s break it down a little. What exactly is desire, you ask? Here’s a quick and witty definition for you: Desire – "That overwhelming feeling that you need something—or someone—right this very moment, preferably draped in a little mystery and a whole lot of seduction." It’s that slow burn, that magnetic pull, the thing that makes us lean in just a little closer, both in life and in photography.

So how does that translate into your session? Let me tell you a secret: desire isn’t just one note—it’s a whole symphony. And just like music, it comes in different flavors and volumes. Sometimes, it’s that quiet, smoldering stare. Other times, it’s bold and unapologetic, like I dare you energy. It can be soft, intimate, or downright fiery. The key is finding your range, and that’s where my magic comes in.

When you step into my studio, we’re not just snapping photos. Oh no, we’re collaborating to create art. I’m here to help you explore the spectrum of desire, guiding you to find your unique expression of it. Because everyone’s version of passion is a little different—what’s sexy and desirable for one person might be entirely different for someone else, and that’s what makes it so fascinating.

And while we’re talking body language, here’s another fun fact: Did you know that desire often shows up in the smallest of movements? A slight tilt of the chin, the soft parting of lips, the way the eyes linger just a second too long... All of these little cues add up to create the full picture of longing and allure. It’s subtle, but when it’s done right, it’s pure magic in front of the camera.

Just take a peek at the images below—what do you see? Those subtle curves, that playful glance, or the intensity in their gaze? These are all moments we can recreate together. My specialty is finding your unique flavor of desire and turning it into something truly unforgettable. Whether it’s quiet and smoldering or bold and seductive, I’ll guide you through it all. And by the end of the session, you’ll be feeling like a whole new, irresistible version of yourself.

So, if you’re ready to channel your inner siren and dance with desire in front of the lens, don’t wait. Book your session now, and let’s create some steamy, magical, one-of-a-kind shots that will have you saying, “Is that really me?”

Because yes, babe. Yes, it is. 🔥

When Food Becomes the Enemy: Anathea’s Battle with Health and Finding Harmony

This week, Boushie Babes, I want to say is less but it’s more for me at least, because its close to home as well, it’s about my daughter again, she came in and wanted to tell her story more…

And if you know our family we do things big around here, go big or go home, and in this case, she did both…

This was a storytelling session, these can go long or short, just depending on the story being told.

She wanted to tell about the struggle of eating for her, it’s been hard and kept her small, and barely able to keep weight on and at times not even able to do that.

This session was about all of that and the comeback she is making, in the natural way….

A picture is worth a thousand words so….

This past year has been a rollercoaster for my daughter, Anathea, as she faced some significant health challenges. It’s been a journey filled with uncertainty, frustration, and, ultimately, hope.

Imagine waiting months just to see a doctor, only to be met with quick fixes that don’t address the root of the problem. That’s been Anathea’s reality. She’s often faced doctors who focus solely on masking symptoms with medication or suggesting invasive surgeries without exploring every other option first. It's a fragmented approach to health that has left us both feeling frustrated and lost at times.

Anathea’s illness is invisible, making it all the more challenging. People can’t see the pain she’s in, so they make assumptions and jump to conclusions about her. They don’t understand the battles she fights daily, which can lead to unfair judgments. It’s a lonely experience, dealing with something so profound that isn’t immediately visible to the outside world.

However, Anathea has been blessed with an incredibly loving and supportive community. She’s worked hard to build this network of caring individuals who have been there for her through thick and thin. Their love and support have been nothing short of lifesaving. With their encouragement, she has finally found a treatment that seems to be working. Without their unwavering support, she would have felt lost.

It’s not easy to be open and share personal struggles, but Anathea has learned that it’s crucial. When you have good people in your life, they want to know what you’re going through. They want to support and help in any way they can. It’s important to let them in and not try to go through it alone. You don’t have to.

Anathea’s journey has taught us both a valuable lesson: even when it feels like you’ve hit rock bottom, there is always a way up. Her resilience and the love of her community have been the guiding light through the darkest times. She inspires me every day with her courage and determination.

For anyone out there facing similar struggles, remember this: you are not alone. Reach out to those who care about you. Share your story. Allow them to help. With the right support, you can find the strength to keep moving forward.

The Power of Body Positivity: Why It's More Than Just Saying Positive Things

The Power of Body Positivity: Why It's More Than Just Saying Positive Things

Body positivity is a term that has been thrown around a lot lately, and while it's great to see the movement gaining momentum, it's important to understand that it's more than just saying positive things. True body positivity is about changing the way you think about your body and yourself.

Unfortunately, the wrong photographer can leave you feeling worse about your body than you did before the session. That's why I'm here to change the narrative and be more inclusive for all body types. As a boudoir photographer, I understand that my work goes beyond just taking pretty pictures. It's about holding space, being non-judgmental, and boosting my clients up in ways they haven't been before.

That's why boudoir sessions are more expensive than other types of photography. The deeper work that goes on before, during, and after the session has long-lasting effects on my clients' confidence. They leave feeling like a new person, seeing themselves in a new light, feeling sexy and like a woman/man, and feeling desirable again after life happens.

In addition to the photos, I also include affirmations to help my clients reframe the way they think about their body and themselves. Body positivity isn't about being toxically positive, but about learning to love yourself for who you are right now, while also working towards becoming the best version of yourself.

It's time to change the conversation around body positivity and focus on the power it has to transform lives.

Are you ready to join the movement and embrace your body?

Love yourself Series, post 24, Sam

In this series within my blog, I will share individual client stories, that they have allowed me to share with you, in hopes of encouraging you to love yourself more right now not when. These are real women, with real stories.

Let me introduce you to Sam, a Sandpoint native, and mother of a handsome little boy. She has been through a lot over the past few years, including trauma and the struggle of getting back on her feet after life knocked her down. Despite never having been professionally photographed before, she was determined to empower herself and see herself in a new light.

After booking a session, we met in town for her style session and discovered that our families had known each other for years - it's a small town, after all! We talked about everything she was going through, including finding housing and navigating the challenges of growing up in a scary world.

During her session, Sam was amazing! She brought props and fun outfits, which allowed us to capture different sides of her personality and show her in a new light. She loved all of her images, and I couldn't be happier for her. But don't just take my word for it, here's what she had to say about her experience:

She as a single mother had to do one of my very limited post-payment plans,( only have 10 spots available at a time, so they fill up fast.) So, almost a year later she finally made her final payment and got her products and online gallery. Here is her reveal:

Love Yourself Series, post #23, Shannon

In this series within my blog, I will share individual client stories, that they have allowed me to share with you, in hopes of encouraging you to love yourself more right now not when. These are real women, with real stories.

Shannon, a California native, has spent the last decade exploring and moving from place to place to build new connections. Unfortunately, she lost everything after her divorce and went through a rough patch. To make matters worse, she had an ectopic pregnancy that required surgery and left her with health issues. However, Shannon is determined not to let these challenges define her or affect her self-esteem.

Let's show Shannon some love and support because we all know how tough it can be. Despite everything, Shannon decided to celebrate herself by booking a session with me. And boy, did she knock it out of the park!

To make things easier, Shannon took advantage of my payment plans and broke down the cost into manageable amounts. I was thrilled when she finally paid them off, and I couldn't wait to deliver her images.

Here's what Shannon had to say about her experience:

Images from her session, are so beautiful.

Love Yourself Series post 15, Debra

In this series within my blog, I will share individual client stories, that they have allowed me to share with you, in hopes of encouraging you to love yourself more right now not when. These are real women, with real stories.

Beauty to Bombshell

Meet Debra, a stay-at-home mom with a part-time job to help provide for her family. She always just felt overlooked and normal. She wanted to do this to show herself she was beautiful just the way she is. Like most of us shorter gals, we feel cute, not confident and sexy, or like a real woman.

So she took the chance to get out of her comfort zone and did something she thanked herself for. She booked a session. She wanted to showcase her style, which was more of shorts and a sweater, or more comfort over style and I loved that. She is bubbly, and always had a smile.

She struggles like most of us do with accepting herself and her body as things change, we have kids or we get a bit older. So we showed her just that, just how amazing she is right now. After 4 kids and life, she finally did something for herself.

We had so much fun, we played, we laughed, and we discovered a bit more of who Debra is. She got see and finally see herself in a new light.

Love Yourself Series post 14, Tarin

In this series within my blog, I will share individual client stories, that they have allowed me to share with you, in hopes of encouraging you to love yourself more right now not when. These are real women, with real stories.

beauty to bombshell

Meet Tarin, a beautiful amazing woman on her path of self-discovery after years of not being truly loved for who she is. She served in the navy, married young, divorced young, now a single mother who hasn’t let anything stop her. She may have gotten sidetracked a few times but she is now on her way.

She is back in school for her passion, taking amazing care of herself and her son!! She struggles just like most of us, but she keeps going. She is on a healing journey working on both the physical and mental things she needs to. She struggles with Crohn’s, so her weight yo-yos are due to flare-ups, but she is still gorgeous.

She is chasing her dreams, getting out of her comfort zone, and doing it!! No, it’s not easy, but she gets up and gets it done.

Her shoot was amazing, and we got some amazing shots, she had a hard time letting any go, she loved so many images from her session. She even brought in her favorite coffee mug!! I was like hell freaking yeah!!!

In, fact as I write this she has already booked another session!!! She felt more seen and more herself than before. She felt comfortable finally discovering who she is not who others say she is. So below are some of her images, only a handful.

Here is what she had to say, since her shoot ran a bit over, and we got distracted I had to text her after to get it, but here is what she said about her session:

“Before my shoot I was nervous. I didn’t really know how I’d look and that worried me. I am very self-conscious and hate that I always feel like the camera adds weight to me. But I was also really excited to do something purely for me to make myself feel good about myself. During my session, I felt awkward but I trust Accalia completely. She made me feel comfortable and confident in my skin. It was fun to just let loose and enjoy the moment. I fell in love with images. Some of them weren’t amazing but it wasn’t the fault of anyone it just wasn’t the photo I got excited about. A few of them I looked at and finally saw what others have told me for a while. I felt sexy, confident and like a real woman even though I’m in my 30’s and a mom, I I never felt like I was a woman, whether it was due to my size or constantly being reminded I’m someone’s daughter, I always felt so young and cute. Now I am able to fully embrace my 30s and sexy self. Do it!!! You can always delete the photos but you rarely get the chance to just be you and be made to feel amazing about your body and who you are. It’s worth it to just be the center of attention and focus on your well-being and positivity alone.”-Tarin

Fuck Shame.....Still I rise....

shame

/SHām/

noun

  1. a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior.

    "she was hot with shame"

verb

  1. (of a person, action, or situation) make (someone) feel ashamed.

"I tried to shame him into giving some away"

Shame is also a feeling of I am bad, or something is wrong with me, instead of the behavior.

What do you feel when you look at this image?

As women, we are constantly told who and what we should or shouldn’t be. We are told to be ourselves, yet not like that.

I am here to say:

FUCK SHAME and FUCK THAT!!!

and those who make you feel shameful.

We are all human and we have needs, food, shelter, love, and connection.

The image above speaks to the shame a lot of us feel towards our sexuality and pleasure. It gives me the feels, like so many feels. The model and I were wrapping her session and she sat there and curled up and I was like wait….grabbed the toys, laid them out, and gave her a bit of coaching and direction.

This image brings up tons of stuff for me, about being told to not like toys, that it was wrong to feel pleasure or to explore yourself. So, much more as well like being a sexual woman was taught to be bad, to want sex was bad, to enjoy it was really bad, yet men love it yet shame us for the same pleasures.

Again, FUCK THAT!!!

I am a woman watch me take my power back, and say fuck that!!!

Ladies, I invite you to help yourself, do the shadow work, and reclaim your power!!!

FUCK SHAME!!!

Let’s make some amazing art along the way!!!!

Just start, now where you are, let go of what others have told you to be, and start asking yourself who you want to be, and then take action on that, no matter what you can do this. Only you can.

I have created a safe place to explore the different sides of who you are, a no-judgment zone. A place you can be who you are, or who you want to be for a day, the best thing is you are safe to explore yourself in ways we rarely if ever get to.

So let us rise again ladies and reclaim our sacred power as women as creators, and as lovers.

Still I Rise

BY MAYA ANGELOU

You may write me down in history

With your bitter, twisted lies,

You may trod me in the very dirt

But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?

Why are you beset with gloom?

’Cause I walk like I've got oil wells

Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,

With the certainty of tides,

Just like hopes springing high,

Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?

Bowed head and lowered eyes?

Shoulders falling down like teardrops,

Weakened by my soulful cries?

Does my haughtiness offend you?

Don't you take it awful hard

’Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines

Diggin’ in my own backyard.

You may shoot me with your words,

You may cut me with your eyes,

You may kill me with your hatefulness,

But still, like air, I’ll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?

Does it come as a surprise

That I dance like I've got diamonds

At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame

I rise

Up from a past that’s rooted in pain

I rise

I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,

Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear

I rise

Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear

I rise

Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,

I am the dream and the hope of the slave.

I rise

I rise

I rise.

Love Yourself Series, Sue, Post #12

In this series within my blog, I will share individual client stories, that they have allowed me to share with you, in hopes of encouraging you to love yourself more right now not when. These are real women, with real stories.

Meet Sue, she came in for a gift for her hubby, she said that he was the only man who ever made her feel beautiful and sexy. They dated in high school, went separate ways, and later on came back together and the love they share is incredible. Over the years while they were apart she felt fat and ugly, she hated photos of her and started to realize she had no nice photos of herself, none.

So after years of work, effort, finding her love again, and finally starting to love herself, she decided it was time to finally do the shoot!! During her style session, we talked about how she had been working out, being more instead of working more. We grabbed a few things and talked about the things at home she had and wanted to use. Also, informed me he wants a large wall art, which I was all in for, I love when my clients get those wall arts. We talked about she had some tattooed makeup, and gets lashes done as well.

On the day of her shoot, we clicked, even more, and had so much fun. Our favorite outfit was something she threw in off-hand, and it was the perfect thing for her. She looked amazing!!! In fact, most of her and his favs were in this outfit, a red cotton form-fitted dress, simple, yet powerful!!!

When she came to get her wall art and album, she told me about wanting to buy pants, and actual jeans for the first time in over 30 years, did I mention she is 60. All I can say is how much I admire those who start the journey they know they need to take, no matter what the age, thank you.

Here’s what she had to say after her shoot, I forgot to do the video, so this is what she wrote:

“Before the shoot I was nervous. During the shoot, I was completely comfortable with it all.
And after the shoot going through all the pictures and seeing my husband's face, was worth it all. This is something every woman needs to do for herself. Women are beautiful in every shape and size and Boushie Babes takes beautiful pictures to capture your inner beauty. Thank you for this fun adventure. You have a rare talent. Thank you.” Sue

Love Yourself Series, Post #10 Sheryl

In this series within my blog, I will share individual client stories, that they have allowed me to share with you, in hopes of encouraging you to love yourself more right now not when. These are real women, with real stories.

Meet Sheryl, this amazing 64-year-old badass woman. She is a mother, grandmother, widow, and one hell of a badass woman. She recently lost 40 pounds, and she and her husband always wanted to get this done for her and him. So, after his passing, she decided to really start living, and get out of her comfort zone.

She saw my ad, and jumped, she knew she had to have one of these sessions for herself after all these years, it’s never too late, or early. The lesson I learned here is don’t wait, do it!! We did her style session, and we clicked right away, I just loved her personality, the fact she rode a bike and was really enjoying doing the things she never “had made the time” before, she said no more, now is my time.

She wanted to showcase her body art, and her new self, which we did amazingly. In fact, she was so in love with her images, she felt freaking amazing. Below are some of her images, her love note, and client reveal.

So without further ado, here is what Sheryl said about her session:

Isn’t just an amazing woman?

Love Yourself series, Melanie post #5

In this series within my blog, I will share individual client stories, that they have allowed me to share with you, in hopes of encouraging you to love yourself more right now not when. These are real women, with real stories.

Meet Melanie, a school bus driver for over 17 years!!! She has an Autistic son who is a bus aide for special needs too. She is a widow with a happy love story. Her and her husband where madly in love, and then dementia happened. Though this one will get your heart strings ladies, her and her long standing hubby needed help towards then end, and she wanted someone to help who loved him as much as she did. That person ended up being his life long best friend, since they all where so close already it made things easier. In the end her husband asked his best friend to love her like he did, and to care for after he was gone.

Sometime after his passing her and his best friend fell in love, or shall we say a deepening of love they already had. They are now happy together knowing both their spouses would be happy they found love again. As she told me this during her shoot, we both teared up. She feels so blessed to have 2 great loves in her life.

Her hubby always said she was beautiful, even though she at one time was over 400 pounds. To honor her hubby, and show off her new body, after loosing most of the weight she wanted to showcase herself, for herself and her new love. So we did, she never wore makeup, so we got her all dolled up and ready for the shoot. By the end I felt I had a new friend and she felt so empowered and beautiful it was amazing. She wrote to me a week ago saying she is peeking at her album almost daily, and thinking make-up isn’t so bad. She feels proud of how far she has come, and now is loving seeing the results of her hard work.

So, without anymore to-do, here is what Melanie had to say about her experience:

My Journey-empowerment....

Let’s Chat self empowerment, what does that look like for you? What works for you may not work for her., and that’s okay. For some reclaiming their inner power is more beautiful and powerful than any other thing they will invest in. What ever your journey looks like I would like to share a bit of mine with you today.

Hello I am Accalia, I own and run Sandpoint’s premier Boutique photography studio, Boushie Babes Photography.

I recently started a personal photography project, working on the art of emotion, and capturing that raw beautiful self. So I call this project Self Empowerment I will be showcasing over the next while is my self empowerment series where I coach myself to get a wide range of emotion, and show I can show you as well. I love showcasing those image’s that give you the feels, not just another pretty face.

Flirtation series…..

IMG_7490.jpg

In this shot I was playing with flirtation, having a genuine smile, and playing with the hair as one would if they where flirting with another.

IMG_7455.jpg

This was shot just before or just after the last one, while doing the flow posing for movements. I like the look as if I know something you need to know here, it’s playful and fun.

IMG_7473.jpg

I really love the smirk, and the glow of my eyes here, and my hair.

IMG_7483.jpg

So, in these image’s, I am barely wearing any makeup, I do have on mascara, and lipstick, and a photo finish primer, but that is it. Really.
