3 at Home Face Masks for Glowing, Healthy Skin

Who doesn’t love an at-home spa day, I know I do. I have always loved facials and hot baths for soaking. So, I have found some easy-at-home facials, which I thought I would share with you all today.

1) Anti-aging cocoa face mask-

A decadent antioxidant-packed cocoa skin a restored, youthful appearance. “As skin ages, the moisture barrier begins to break down leading to dryness and the immunity layer of skin weakens. Hydration is the most important skin saver at this stage!” says skincare expert Jasmina Aganonic.

Recipe: combine 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, 1 tablespoon sour cream, 1 tablespoon honey, and 1 egg white. Apply to face and let dry, then rinse.

The powerful ingredients make this a multi-tasking wonder cream: a sour cream is a form of lactic acid that hydrates as it gently exfoliates; honey is a humectant that boosts hydration while the protein in the egg white tightens and firms skin.

2) Wrinkle- Fighting Papaya Face Mask:

A secret recipe for ageless skin is a mask made with fresh papaya, Greek yogurt, and other nutritious ingredients. it’s recommended to apply your usual face moisturizer after rinsing. The alpha hydroxyl acids in papaya works as a natural exfoliator; the egg whites are high in protein and help rebuild the skin and tighten pores.

Recipe: Blend half of the fresh papaya ( seeds removed and dried), 1 tablespoon plain Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon white tea (brewed and cooled), 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, and one organic egg white in a food processor (or use a fork) unit it forms a paste. Apply to face and neck; relax for 20 to 30 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water.

3)Exfoliating Sugar Face Scrub:

Sweeten up your at- home beauty routine with a honey and sugar face scrub. “This home made exfoliant helps to nourish skin while sloughing off dead cells.” says Arelli Soriano. If you have sensitive skin, it can be too harsh.

Recipe: Mix half cup brown sugar and 3 tablespoons of honey in a small bowl and stir until a think paste forms. Add two tablespoons of an oil of your choice (olive, almond, or coconut) and blend until it integrates with the paste to make a little lighter. Spread the paste all over clean skin,- face, neck, and decollate. Leave it on for five-ten minutes and rinse with warm water. you can use leftover scrub on the whole body for the same result.

End of Season Rescue Facial

I call it my ‘End-of-Winter Rescue Facial’...

And it’s the perfect way to combat that pale, dreary, tired look our skin tends to get after months of being cooped up indoors.

Best of all, it’s incredibly easy to make at home and works REALLY quickly.

(Just follow the introductions below — and you’ll likely notice a visibly brighter, healthier, and more vibrant-looking complexion almost instantly!)

WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Turmeric powder
Honey
Oat flour
Olive oil
Coconut milk
Unsweetened pineapple juice
Lemon juice (fresh or concentrate)
2 small bowls
Cotton balls

QUICK PREP
This facial consists of 2 (very easy) DIY components — a mask and a toner.

TO MAKE THE MASK...
Combine the following ingredients in a small bowl, and whisk until they form a smooth, even paste:

• 1 tsp turmeric powder
• 1 tsp honey
• 1 tsp olive oil
• 1 tsp coconut milk
• 1 tsp unsweetened pineapple juice
• 1 tsp oat flour (for consistency)

(If the mixture looks a bit thin, add an extra pinch of oat flour, if it looks too thick, add an extra splash of pineapple juice.)

TO MAKE THE TONER...
In a separate bowl, combine:

• 1 tbsp coconut milk
• 2 tsp lemon juice

[Note: As with all DIY recipes, make sure to test both the mask and toner on your inner wrist before using them on your face.]

Now You’re Ready to Start Your Facial

Step #1 Apply the MASK evenly over your entire face and leave on for 15 minutes.

Step #2 Rinse the mask off thoroughly with warm water and pat your skin dry with a clean towel.

Step #3 Dip a cotton ball into the TONER and swipe it over your face. (If you notice any remaining bits of yellow tint from the turmeric on your skin, gently rub the cotton ball over those areas several more times until they fade.)

Step #4 Let the toner air-dry on your skin for 3 minutes, and then rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Step #5 Step back and marvel at your radiant new GLOW!

What makes this facial so effective, you ask?

Well, let’s start by looking at the ingredients in the MASK:

*Pineapple juice is rich in both Vitamin C, a potent natural skin-brighter, and glycolic acid — a compound that helps breakup and remove dead skin-dulling dead surface cells.

*Coconut milk is great at softening skin and supporting elasticity — plus, it also contains copper, an essential age-fighting nutrient that helps even skin texture and combat wrinkles.

*Turmeric is chock-full of antioxidants that help right off impurities, boost radiance, and energize your complexion — while its rich pigment helps give pale winter skin a much-needed hint of natural golden color.

*Olive oil (which I mainly like to add to keep the turmeric from actually staining skin yellow) also helps hydrate and add luster to your complexion.

*And lastly, honey — a natural humectant and exfoliant — helps gently polish your skin’s surface, while locking in moisture for a dewy, plush look.

Then, once your skin has absorbed all these amazing nutrients…

The lemon-coconut TONER comes in to give it one last burst of skin-BRIGHTENING vitamin C and soothing hydration...

So by the time you’ve finished your facial — it’s nearly impossible NOT to be glowing!
